40 member societies that show a wide range of films and organize special
events promoting innovative programming and a wide
appreciative film culture. .DVD and video projection technologies now make new movies available to all

The DVD / Data Projection Pilot Project has been very successful in the North Devon & Somerset areas. The project helps participating members use DVD format and data projectors for modern film shows in rural areas to replace the old 16mm format. This equipment is available to participating arts and educational groups in partnership with South West Arts and the South West Media Development Agency. (Subject to terms & conditions) If you are a recognized arts or educational group in North Devon or Somerset, and wish to apply to use this equipment contact South Molton Film Society. Terms & Conditions for Loan Terms and Conditions Agreement by which approved arts and educational organizations may loan the BFFS SW DVD/Projector equipment held by: Phil Norman at Base No. 4, 20 Brook Meadow, South Molton, Devon. EX26 4BN ( 01769-573049 Subject to approval and initial training in handling and use of the equipment, all organisations wishing to loan the above equipment must agree to: Be responsible for checking that the attached list of equipment is complete before signing, and be complete on return; Be responsible for asking any relevant questions, so they are able to operate the equipment properly; Notify the Base 4 holder of any problems with the equipment immediately, and make no attempted repair; Accept an invoice and reimburse the BFFS for any missing items on return. (The insurance specification is held by BFFS SW for the equipment and is available on request). Arrange and finance all necessary transport for the equipment to and from Base No.4; Be responsible for any liability to other loaners due to late return of the equipment; Defray any financial loss accrued as a result of failure of this equipment: no such liability is accepted by BFFS SW; Return all loaned equipment to Base No. 4 immediately after use.
